Installing three custom printed digital Wallscapes
at American Intercontinental University in Beaverton, OR.
Be sure to check out the next two Gallery pages to see all the murals.
The first step is to sand/scrap the peaks off this
semi-smooth wall. The previously damaged areas are then skim coated.
Since these custom printed digital murals by Wallscapes
will be overlapped & double-cut, GARDZ primer/sealer is used.
It's a drywall repair primer/sealer that dries hard. A hard non
oil-based primer/sealer is desirable when double-cutting. And GARDZ
is an excellent wallcovering under coater.
GARDZ goes on translucent milky white &
dries clear with a slick/glossy sheen. Normally wallcoverings
won't stick to this type of surface but this is a welcome exception
to the rule.
Each panel is pulled through the mighty Ramco Paste
Master 62" commercial pasting machine.
Several panels are already
up. They're overlapped about 2" at the seams. You can't see
the overlapped areas from this angle.
Look at the left side of the "m" in tomorrow.
That's the right edge of a panel overlapping the left edge of the
previous panel.
Look at the left side of the "o" in world. Look a few
inches left of the "W" in we. These are the next two overlapped
edges.
After double-cutting, removing the selvedges, rolling the butted
seams & cleaning, a professional finished look will be achieved.
The cubicles to the right made it impossible
to get a head on shot of the installed mural. Standing in the
hall almost gets it all in frame. There's more of the blue company
logo just out of frame.
Here's the professional finished look after double-cutting
the seams. Another awesome installation! All three murals are getting
rave reviews.
