Grasscloth is usually installed by "Reverse Hanging" every other strip. This way the right side of the first strip will be butted to the right side of the second strip. Likewise, the left side of the second strip (it's upside down) will be butted to the left side of the third strip.

The seam is obvious when looking at two consecutive strips cut from the same bolt. This is what is meant by a "paneled" effect.
